Another Bears set comes your way as RetroCards has created an extension to the popular and attractive 1967 football set.   The 1960’s were lean years for the Windy City, and the 1967 Bears team was coming off a disappointing 5-7-2 record the year before.   However, they still had a solid defense, and their two great future Hall-of-Famers Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus were in the prime of their careers.

The Bears roster was much more than just these two great players, though.  RetroCards presents many of those players known to Bears fans, and students of pro football history.   Two more future Hall-of-Famers, veterans Doug Atkins and Joe Fortunato represent the “Monsters of the Midway” in this set.  Other integral members of the Bears defense include Ed O’Bradovich, Roosevelt Taylor and Joe Taylor.

Veteran quarterback Bill Wade rounds out his career in this set, while his heir apparent Larry Rakestraw is also featured.   Other veterans and youngsters include Austin Denney, Dick Evey, Randy Jackson, Bob Wetoska, Curtis Gentry, Charlie Bivins, and Bobby Joe Green among others.   Lastly, the highlight of this set is Brian Piccolo, the subject of the poignant film “Brian’s Song”, the Bears halfback who died of cancer in 1970.  If you are a rabid fan of the Bears, or just liked the look and style of the 1967 bubblegum cards, this set will be a great addition to your collection.  Order yours here.
