RetroCards First Non-Sport Set Is Heavenly

Farrah Fawcett Majors, kate jackson, jaclyn smith, David doyle, david ogden stiers, john forsythe, cheryl ladd

For those of us growing up in the 1970s, card collecting was a boon.   All those fun designs and great players added to the quaintness of  the world we lived in.  The latest RetroCards set is from this period and is neither a football, baseball, basketball, nor hockey set.  It is a Charlie’s Angels set with everyone’s favorite Angels: Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith.  In 1977,  four series of Charlie’s Angels cards (253 total cards) were produced of this pop culture phenomenon.  I’ve never seen statistics but aside from the bubble gum cards from the first Star Wars movie (1977), there probably wasn’t a better selling non-sport set than Charlie’s Angels.  The original cards came with stickers and the the majority of the card backs when assembled create a puzzle.  Non-sport cards, though they weren’t given the same attention that their sport card counterpart had, had plenty of charm too.

This new Charlie's Angels "Series V" (numbered 254-271) showcases the first season, which unfortunately for many fans, was the only season featuring Farrah Fawcett as a regular.  Sharp photos show the Angels in action, solving crimes, on the set, or relaxing off camera.  There is even a group shot from the pilot movie that features another male working at Townsend And Associates, Scott Woodville, played by David Ogden-Stiers, whose role was written out by the first episode.  Charlie is finally "revealed" featuring you-know-who.  Be sure to look for other non-sport cards from this era in the future only from RetroCards!
