However, the 1958 NFL Championship would become one of the landmark games in professional sports history. Facing the Baltimore Colts, the Giants would lose a heartbreaker in a 23-17 overtime decision. Tim Mara’s team was coached by Jim Lee Howell and two very competent assistants by the names of Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi.

Retrocards presents a new set commemorating the 1958 Giants squad, featuring these coaches, and a number of stars and solid role players.  Household names, not only to Giants fans, but football fans in general, include Pat Summerall, Sam Huff and Kyle Rote.  Players, like Landry and Lombardi, who also went onto coaching careers elsewhere, include Harland Svare, Bob Schnelker and Dick Modzelewski.   All-Pros and solid starters include Jack Stroud, Mel Triplett, Jimmy Patton, Phil King, Lindon Crow, Ray Wietecha, Jim Katcavage and others.  This set will make a great addition to the collection of Giants fans, or any historians of the great game of football.
